The typical strategic planning concept focuses on getting an organization from point A to B - that is from where you are currently as an organization to where you vision it three to five years from now (typically).  It is inteded to do this in a manner that creates a sustainable competitive advantage.

Unfortuanately studies show that tradition strategic planning methods fail their intended purpose.  The majority of studies show that between 70 and 80 percent of all strategic initiatives fail to produce the desired results! Why?

1. The Strategic Plan is poorly executed with little or no accountability.

2. The strategic plan is seen as an event or a snapshot in time rather than a process.
